This is a NEW, vintage
DON HUME Brand
These were old factory stock, special order that were never picked up or finished
They don't have the Hume name on them, but they are old Model 705 Swivels.

LEATHER, SNAP/SWIVEL gun holster.  Made from full grain cowhide, this holster was made for Originally made for heavy Police or Security Uniformed duty.
Here is a little history:
The wildly popular Walking Dead Show on AMC features the lead Character RICK, with an old style police swivel holster in which he dispatches Zombies with head shots from with his classic Colt Python Revolver - 6 shots at a full load.   I have NO DOUBT that when the show first aired, someone called the prop department and said "Hey bubba, we gonna need a 6" COLT Python holster for our lead character."
Knowing what I know about Hollywood and holsters, the prop guys probably went "dang, they ain't made that gun in years, nobody carries revolvers on swivels anymore, and the gun has an unusual barrel shape...what do we have a-laying around here?"
What they came up with was a closed end holster for a 4" barrel large revolver, which they had to cut open to accomodate the 6" barrel.  That is why the gun sticks thru on the show.
Well who knew?  The show is a massive hit, and Rick is LOCKED IN to his trademark Python with the cut open holster.
The actual holster they
came up with was the Model 42A from TEX SHOEMAKER an obsolete model. Like the show's zombies Shoemaker Company has quickly resurrected this holster at 0.00 each!
I have seen the original TS model go over 0 at auction!!
AND NOW SHOEMAKER HAS QUIT BUSINESS AS OF NOVEMBER 2017...so even that rig is out of production.
The holsters back then were similar cuts and somewhat standardized for police duty use. I have a much more economical alternative from a Similar Maker in their swivel model

So this is DON HUME brand
full snap swivel holster.  It started as a 4" or 5" closed end and we cut it down and opened it up.
The hardware on this holster is CHROMED as correct for the show.

However Chromed is correct for the show rig.
It slides on a Sam Browne type or duty belt, 2.25" wide.  The belt loop and swivel drop the holster about 3" below the belt line.  The holster has been wet molded to fit the gun with an exposed trigger guard and cut high in front to protect target sights.  The holster has slicked and finished seams for a professional finish.
The muzzle is OPEN.
This is a RIGHT HAND DRAW
This holster features a 360 degree snap swivel, which was designed to swing across your lap for ease of carry and access while driving or sitting.  In the snapped position, the holster has a butt forward combat presentation.
The Holster
has the OUTSIDE, quick release, retention strap and you can lock down a real gun in this.
In the end, you have a real leather quality holster, pretty darn close to the show holster at price half of the Shoemaker

It is a correct fit for COLT PYTHON
However I can make it for several other Medium-Large revolvers.
