    Description

For sale is an unusual 1893 Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition demi souvenir spoon by an unknown maker.  The spoon is 4 1/8 inches long and weighs 9 grams. The bowl has a die-struck view of the “1893 / COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION / 1892 CHICAGO” main building. The handle has a bust of Columbus and patriotic symbols.  The back is undecorated.  The spoon has not been monogrammed. The spoon is simply marked “STERLING”.  I don’t think I have seen this spoon design before.
Condition on the spoon is fairly good. There are some stubborn tarnish spots and normal wear.  A good fair souvenir spoon!
