TurboTorch 0386-1236 Nitrogen Purge Kit without cylinder (NPK-40) includes 6'/1.8 m hose, OSHA rated blow gun and 245-03P regulator. Nitrogen kit helps to minimize or eliminate oxidation that results in break off and flow through the system, damaging bearings and fouling system filters. It also minimizes the need to evacuate moisture from the system. Air acetylene kit is used for blows, leak tests and HVAC, high capacity applications and comes with a carrying case. Nitrogen purging: When brazing copper, it is imperative to purge with nitrogen in order to minimize or eliminate oxidation that results from heating the copper pipe. Without purging, oxidation will occur and the oxidized flakes that result can and will break off and flow through the system, damaging bearings and fouling system filters. All that is needed is a low pressure, low volume flow of nitrogen. The use of dry nitrogen gas also minimizes the need to evacuate moisture from the system. Multiple Uses: purges, blows, leak test.
