You are bidding on a Rare Arvo Ojala Old West Cowboy Leather Holster and Gun Belt that was acquired at an estate sale. This holster was very common in 1950's and into the 60's TV and movies. Arvo Ojala (1920-2005) was a Hollywood technical advisor on the subject of quick-draw with a revolver. He also worked as an actor. His most famous role was that of the unnamed man shot by Marshal Matt Dillon in the opening sequences of the long-running series "Gunsmoke". Ojala also taught quick-draw and shooting techniques to James Arness, Robert Culp, James Garner, Kevin Kline, Paul Newman, Hugh O'Brien, Clint Walker, and Marilyn Monroe. Holster shows some scuffing. It has a patent number 2832519 and also states No. Hollywood CAL. The patent number indicates that it is early 1960's. The 1950's vintage said patent pending.
