Principle of operation
The detector determines pregnancy by locating amniotic fluid in the uterus. It uses the phenomenon of ultrasonic wave reflection. When pressed to the animal’s skin, the probe sends an ultrasound beam which is reflected from uterine horn filled with fluid and returns to the probe, causing a change of signal generated by the device. Examination at an optimum time helps to make an appropriate diagnosis. Repeating the test for several consecutive days makes a diagnosis more reliable.

The testing procedure is easily implemented by simply pressing the ultrasonic probe against the animal's skin. When  pregnancy is detected, the instrument signals this not only with a rapidly flashing indicator, but also with a high-frequency acoustic signal. Only one button is used for operation.

How can I check if my instrument operates properly?
connect the probe with the instrument using a provided cable and turn the instrument on (a green light should appear)
wet the probe head with water and press it to the inner side of the palm (in the thumb’s base); you should hear even sounds (at 1-sec intervals) and the green light should blink at the same frequency. It is a signal of good contact.
immerse the probe head in a container with water – sound and light signals should increase their frequencies. It is a “pregnancy” signal – in this case it is the reflection of waves from the water in the container.
