***** Important Note. The George Bush .00 coin has been issued and is included in this set. This Buy-it-Now auction is for one set of Presidential Dollar
P-Mint
.
This series began in 2007 and have been issued four per year and continued until 2016 when the last dead president was honored.
Any living presidents after 2016 will also be similarly honored upon their passing. I
f you try building a set by buying one coin at a time, you will have to spend over 0.00 plus additional shipping charges to complete a set such as this..
As a BONUS, you will receive a free set of the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial, P & D mint pennies along with your purchase.
While they are referred to as ‘Golden Dollars”, there is no gold in these coins and are a pure copper core with an outer layer made of 77% copper, 12 % zinc, 7% manganese, and 4% nickel.
Though started in 2007 as to be meant as a circulating coin, the public steadfastly would not use them.
Millions have been stockpiled in the mint vaults and will probably be melted down.
With the beginning of the 2012 issues, they continued to be minted but in reduced production numbers for collector use only in order to reduce the stockpile. These dollar coins are also 'Business Strikes', which means that since they are made for general circulation, they will not be perfect in condition and will have minor imperfections on them, such as, scratches, tiny nicks, and a color that sometimes is slightly different from other dollar coins. If you want a dollar coin with utmost perfection, I suggest purchasing a set of 'Proof Dollars'. Proofs will run approximately four times higher in cost.
