Beautiful, high quality, heavy 5-7/8 inch long sterling silver spoon
from Springfield Illinois dating to years around 1900 featuring on the front of
the handle starting at the top: banner reading SPRINGFIELD, below portrait of
ABRAHAM LINCOLN, then LINCOLN HOME, then US eagle holding a shield, then
LINCOLN, LINCOLN MONUMENT and corn plant down the handle. Bowl is gold or
copper finished embossed with very detailed scenery of a house, the writing is
LINCOLN HOME, SPRINGFIELD, ILL. On the back of the handle the following is
shown: STATE HOUSE, below FORD’S THEATER, then HOUSE WHERE LINCOLN WAS BORN and
plant down the handle. Measures 5 7/8" long (148 mm), feels heavy, weights
28.8 grams and it is in excellent condition. On the back marked STERLING and
has hallmark with the old mark of H on a pennant for Mechanics Sterling
Company, which was subsidiary of Watson Newell Co. Shipping on multiple
