Cereal Box with their famous mascot icon Tony The Tiger
issued 1956 ( box is dated May 28 1956 )
This is a FLAT meaning that it was never assembled and packaged with cereal inside for a store shelf.
This is a French Canadian / English language issued box. (as seen in our scans)
Box is 10oz. size.
This box is extra special because in the year 2002 I personally had this box signed by Thurl Ravenscroft. (seen in our scan, signed in felt pen around the bottom of the front over the flap area)
Thurl passed away in 2005.
Thurl was the voice of Tony The Tiger for their TV commercials.
His voice is heard during the Pirates of the Caribbean ride as well as the
Haunted
Mansion
at
Disneyland
as Uncle Theodore, the lead vocalist of the singing busts in the cemetery near the end of the ride. Ravenscroft is also heard in the Enchanted Tiki Room as the voice of Fritz the Animatronics parrot.
One of Ravenscroft's best known uncredited works is as the vocalist for the song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch."
